Types of Mechanical Lifts
The Freight Lift Guy offers three types of lifts: straddle, cantilever, and 4-post—each with their own advantages.
Straddle Mechanical Lift
The straddle lift offers a choice of “C” and “Z” loading/unloading patterns and provides extra flexibility for maneuvering loads.
Key Features
Lift Capacity:
‘Standard’ up to 6,000 lbs and ‘High-Load’ up to 12,000 lbs.
Platform Sizes:
Up to 12 ft. wide x 20 ft. long. Custom sizes available. Pit-less Flat Plate carriage available on some sizes (eliminates loading ramp or pit requirements).
Lifting Speed:
Standard travel speed is 28 fpm. Higher speeds available.
Lift Height/Levels:
For a standard (ground floor plus 1-stop) lift the height limit is up to 150 ft. high. This can be increased with custom configurations.
Cantilever Mechanical Lift
The cantilever lift offers the choice of “C”, “Z” or 90° loading/unloading patterns and is used for low overhead clearances and tall loads.

Lift Capacity:
‘Standard’ up to 6,000 lbs and ‘High-Load’ up to 12,000 lbs.

Up to 12 ft. wide x 10 ft. long. Custom sizes available. Pit-less Flat Plate carriage available on some sizes (eliminates loading ramp or pit requirements).

Standard (ground floor plus 1-stop). Multi-level operation is available.
4-Post Mechanical Lift
The 4-Post Material Lift allows the flexibility to load/unload on any side of the platform. This is the ideal choice for large, heavy loads.
Key Features
Lift Capacity:
‘Standard’ up to 15,000 lbs and ‘High-Load’ up to 30,000 lbs.
Platform Sizes:
Up to 12 ft. wide x 30 ft. long. Custom sizes available. Pit-less Flat Plate carriage available on some sizes (eliminates loading ramp or pit requirements).
Lifting Speed:
Standard travel speed is 20 fpm. Higher speeds available.
Levels:
Standard (ground floor plus 1-stop). Multi-level operation is available.
